MBS Joins National Open Bonsai Contest

IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT MINDANAOANS joined the country’s most prestigious bonsai competition, the 5^th Philippine Bonsai Society, Incorporated (PBSI) National Open Exhibition & Competition held last May 3 - 11, 2008 at Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Quezon City, Philippines.

A Cause Reforms Mindanao Bonsai Society

It was the mini-show last October 5 - 8, 2006, held along with the Alumni Homecoming of Southern Christian College in Midsayap, North Cotabato that made the reorganization, hence resulting to Mindanao Bonsai Society.

First Mindanaoan Enters 2006 World Bonsai Contest Top 50
The semi-cascade styled “Dapedak” Blue Bell (Desmodium sp.) of Herden Pedrajas was selected to be among the top 50 International Winners of the prestigious World Bonsai Contest organized by the World Bonsai Friendship Federation (WBFF) in cooperation with Bonsai Clubs International (BCI), Nippon Bonsai Association and Japan Bonsai Growers Corporative.

KBSI Sweep 9 out of Top 10 Best in Mindanao

It’s a rare occasion that one bonsai club dominates a Mindanao Open Competition but Bonsai artists from the Kidapawan City Bonsai Society, Inc (KBSI) took the lead as they reaped a rare nine out of top 10’s Best for this year’s Mindanao Open contest hosted by Fukal Kayo Bonsai Society, Inc (FUKABSI).
